Basic Types of Flight Training
A lot of people do not know that there are different types of pilots, there are nine of them to be exact such as the student, private, commercial, sport, instrument rated, certified flight instructor, designated pilot examiner, airline transport and recreational. Obtaining a higher ratings can make you progress in these different levels of skill set.
This rating system defines the type of planes you can fly, if you can transport passengers, and what kind of weather you are authorized to fly in. Prior to be called a pilot, there is a required rating that you must attain. However, another requirement for every pilot to do is to submit the latest medical certificate from the physician and being approved by the FAA in which will certify that the pilot is healthy so they are allowed to fly.
The beginning of a flight training is in a form of a student pilot certification. To achieve this and the pilot's license, one must pass all the tests like the oral and written tests, flight and ground school tests. You will be able to do a solo fly if you successfully master all the basic skill sets. The "home" airport must be the place to land for all the students flying. You can have a round trip to another airport without carrying any passengers and only if your instructor permits.
You must be 17 years old in order for you to advance your rating to that of a recreational, private, or sport pilot. What the recreational pilots do is to fly solo for fun but should remain within 58 miles of their home airport except if they have an unambiguous consent from their instructor.
Sport and recreational pilots are not allowed to fly through airspace since having a communication with the air traffic controller is necessary, but they are allowed to carry one passenger only and can request an approval for airspace. In this case, many pilots are able to advance to the next rating which is the private pilot.
